About my work
With a strong identity garnered from my upbringing in the North-East of England, I have found that my identity has become not just a characteristic of myself, but of the work that I create. When writing creatively, I like to intersperse a myriad of archetypal genres, and portray them in a way that is relevant to the North-East, working class culture: approaching drama with the classic sensibilities of Geordie levity: approaching macro-concepts on a micro-scale. Below is a sample of my scripts and treatments that demonstrate my work as a creative writer.
Penny Floater
2023
A feature-length spec script.
"Two young boys embark on a midsummer odyssey that takes them from their stomping grounds of Prudhoe to the far coast of Whitley Bay, all in search of a girl that puts out." A road movie in which Harleys and highways are traded out for bicycles and cap guns. An excerpt from the script can be viewed here.

Lush
2024
A pilot episode spec script.
"Three different points of a boy's youth play out simultaneously in an equivocal pattern, all centred around the city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, dealing with hope, loss and the boredom inbetween."
A slacker comedy/drama with a surrealist tinge.

blue Jeans & Moonbeams
2023
A pilot episode spec script.
"A delivery driver spends his days ambling through the Lake District terrain with nothing but his receiver and German shepherd for company. As the folk along the way descend into the strange, so does his seemingly nondescript task."
A grounded, Northern take on folk horror.

closing Time
2023
A short
The idea for this piece was that there were only two constraints: it had to be a single scene set in a bar and it had to have the title of 'Closing Time'. The script was then developed by film students, as can be seen below.
The script can be viewed here.
